Supermoon

This particular wire used to be part of the stove's power cord. Not the current stove but the old one. The stove itself is long gone but the cord remained as it held sentimental value (?) because I slightly electrocuted myself on it once.

3 Kings Day

Is today, thanks Virgil for eminding me.

I haven't got any camels or horses for them, so we can suppose they just walked.
Melcior, the Crimson King of Shambhala, who journeyed down from his mist-ringed Tower with its telescopes and scrolls and endlessly comfy armchairs;

King Balthazar Abraxas Obama, up the mountainous roads from Agartha, seeking, his eyes on the Sun, and ignoring the dust in his sandals;

Gaspar the King of Perilous Starlight, who came South from Hyperborea, pointing out the path by the light of Great Nibiru.

They return by different ways than whence they came, which is perhaps a wiser way of doing it.
Perhaps they stopped in New Zealand for a bit of a vacation first.

Astronomical Internet Widgetry!

Online Orrery

There is even a sound option so that you may hear the Music of the Spheres!
 (it is somewhat underwhelming, in my opinion)

In Situ Repair & Embellishment

 A table given to me by a friend. I have shifted the shelf that was leaning on it to the pile of vhs at the far left.
Paint the exposed weathered wood...
Add insect parts and random shiny things according to personal taste...
 Pour on a thick layer of THE STUFF, which is...
...cycloaliphatic non-blushing epoxy resin (marine grade) used for the fiberglass part of making boats. There isn't really any in this picture, this is just the thing i mixed it in.
I didn't set out to do this specific project today but i had some of The Stuff mixed up & left over from the other thing i was doing and didn't want to waste it. It was just enough, serendipitously. Must be because i'm such a good planner.

My Balls

Big String Ball I've been working on for a few years now. At the middle there's a bent paper clip, but other than that it's all string.

And of course the big foil ball. As a child of the 80's I loved me some Pee-Wee's Playhouse. I actually once sold the big huge foil ball on ebay for a dollar, but it would've cost so much to ship they told me to just keep it, hence the shipping box. True story.

And of course, no story about balls would be complete without this. Enjoy!
