Since you've now had some time to enjoy your astonishment,I'll share the less favorable part...the charity whose link appears on the homepage sells prints very similar to this painting. So very similar one might suppose the elephants have been trained (only reward-based training of course) to produce the image to applause and wonder. Still a fabulous achievement, but casts doubt on whether this is painting done with "the joy that leaps from the heart", as it were. I didn't want to know this either, but such is the life of an artist.
I sort of suspected as much and didn't go cynically searching the inter tubes, but truth will out. How ever achieved this elephant is a better painter than I'll ever be.
As for the "joy that leaps from the heart" I've been looking at Mark Rothko's painting recently. Mystic Rog says it'll be good for me.
